6 WAYS TO WEAR A SHIRT
The secret to a
stylish and affordable wardrobe?
Knowing how to wear
the same pieces over and over, while making them look new and different.
Whether it's a jacket you love, your favorite pair of jeans, or an old t-shirt
you can't part with, knowing how to imbue these pieces with new life will give
your entire wardrobe a major style upgrade.
I love it when one piece
of clothing can be used in multiple different outfits and serve a different
purpose for each.
Shirts are the most comfortable piece of clothing we find in
our wardrobes. But unlike what most of us believe, shirts can make one look
uber stylish with just a few tweaks here and there. What better than comfort
and style at the same time?
Below are my 6 personal favorite ways to style a button down shirt.
KNOTTED
This look can be paired with high-waisted short during the summer for a Daisy Duke-inspired look, I paired it up with a black jeans for a sophisticated look
TIE-AROUND
Ahh! We girls always prefer wearing hot pants while monkeying on the beaches. Team up your graphic tee and tie your button up plaid shirt around your waist with your hot pants and you're ready to rock the beaches.
OPENED UP
Layering your plaid button up shirt over any tee is a trendy and quirky way to let your individuality shine! Whether you sport your favorite band, a crop top or a funny one liner, this style can be adapted by everyone.
UNDER A VEST
Adding a denim cropped vest to your button-up plaid shirt can help break up the bold print and add a subtle flair of style. You can also for leather jackets or blazers over a basic shirt for modern and bold look. It will add the edge you are looking for.
LAYERED UNDER A KNIT TOP
Layering any button-up woven shirt under a knit top or sweater is a great look, but using a plaid print can add a lot of personality to your style while giving you the chance to mix prints. Don’t forget to pop out the collar, cuff the sleeves, and leave the bottom untucked. I tucked it in though.
CASUAL & COMFY
Shirts look super casual with shorts. Sometimes less is more, so wearing the plaid button-up traditionally with a pair of comfy shorts is a great way to start your day. A comfortable attire seamlessly take you from day to night.
